Applicant Notice
This notice explains how Tenant Select uses interview information from applicants invited to complete a structured interview as part of a tenancy application.
Tenant Select helps landlords gain structured insight from shortlisted applicants by asking each applicant the same set of interview questions and preparing a report from their responses.
How the interview works
The interview is completed through Tenant Select’s online video interview platform, which is operated with the support of specialist technology providers.
Your video and/or audio responses may be recorded. Your responses may also be transcribed, reviewed and organised by Tenant Select.
How your responses are used
Tenant Select will use your interview responses to prepare a report for the landlord or their authorised representative.
The report may include summaries, key points, supporting detail, comparison points and/or transcribed responses.
The landlord or their authorised representative may use the report to support their own tenancy application decision-making.
Tenant Select does not make the final tenancy decision.
What Tenant Select does not do
Unless expressly stated, Tenant Select does not carry out referencing, affordability checks, credit checks, right-to-rent checks, ID checks, employment checks, landlord reference checks or legal checks.
The landlord remains responsible for their own decision-making and legal compliance.
Please avoid unnecessary sensitive information
Please answer honestly and in your own words.
Please avoid sharing highly personal or sensitive information unless you feel it is directly relevant and are comfortable with it being shared with the landlord or their authorised representative.
This may include information about health, religion, ethnicity, political views or other highly personal matters.
